PROJECT OVERVIEW
Took a little trip up the bayou this summer with my friends at, Boulder Media House, to direct this spot about chicken fingers, football, and … dads? Had a real blast working with the Manning family on this one.
This was quite a gig and I think it's a testament to years of working scrappily, before we had any resources. When it comes to directing high profile talent there's one thing I've learned: time is of the essence. Like, in a way that you can't quite describe.
So what do you do? Well, you build a clear plan, curate a crew that you trust, and more than anything, you have to be agile and adaptable. Because things are likely going to change. And that was the case with this one - like, oh ya know - just an incoming down pour of rain.
So, Director of Photography, Bailey Miclette and I built a plan to run three simultaneous cameras, and we shot this spot in literally 22 minutes. It was bananas. Or...I guess, chicken? No, that doesn't make any sense.
Anyway - we had a blast with the whole team at Raising Cane's and Arch Manning & Garret Nussmeier taught me a little bit more about how to read a Cover 2 defense -- so that was useful, I suppose.
